Description

Early Childhood Inclusion:
The Foundations

A workshop for the Early Education and Childcare Community

This interactive half-day training is designed to introduce the definition, philosophy, legal mandates, and vision for the inclusion of young children with disabilities in early care and education programs. Participants will have an opportunity to shape their own vision for inclusion and explore relationship-building strategies for supporting families of children with disabilities.

Participants will…

  • Develop a common understanding of inclusion - the philosophy, definition, research, and legislative mandates that shape services for young children with disabilities and other special needs, and their families.

  • Reflect on key elements of a vision for including preschoolers with disabilities and their families.

  • Review and identify strategies for building strong relationships with families as a foundation for inclusive programs.

This workshop counts as 4 hours toward the 8 hour Preschool for All (PFA) requirement for training on inclusion.

Presented by: SF Inclusion Networks: The Center for Inclusive Early Education

Lunch will be provided from 11am - 11:30am. The workshop will begin promptly at 11:30am.
